Did you hear about Senator Hagan from Ohio? He wants to pass a bill banning Republicans from adopting children! He thinks if gays can’t adopt kids, then neither should Republicans. Here’s what he said:
"Credible research exists that strongly suggests that adopted children raised in Republican households, though significantly wealthier than their Democrat-raised counterparts, are more at risk for developing emotional problems, social stigmas, inflated egos (and) an alarming lack of tolerance for others they deem different than themselves."
This is outrageous! I’m a Republican and I can tolerate most people for a little while. I just think abortion should be illegal, and once the unwanted children are placed in foster homes, gays shouldn’t be allowed to adopt them.
I told my wife Viola about Senator Hagan’s idea to ban Republicans from adopting children, and she said:
“That’s the trouble with Democrats. They’re wimps.”
“What do you mean,” I asked.
And Viola said, “If Hagan had any backbone, he’d write a bill banning Republicans from voting!”
And then she said, “I’m Viola Estrada and that’s my point!”
You see? I’m tolerant. Viola’s different from me, and I’ve been tolerating her for over thirty years!
I’m Carl Estrada and that’s my point.
